What Is Physical Therapy?

Creating a Physical Therapy Plan

During your first visit, your physical therapist will assess your endurance, flexibility, muscle strength and tone, reflexes, and more. Based on your physical therapist’s assessment, a thorough treatment plan will be designed to help you meet your needs and goals for recovery. As you progress through physical therapy, your program will change as your needs change.
