Located on the ground floor of the Ironwood Medical Center, Carson Valley Health’s (CVH) Ironwood Specialty Care clinic is rapidly expanding to meet the healthcare needs for our community.
In 2022 the specialty clinic welcomed two new physicians, adding Urology and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation to its ever growing list of outpatient services. Both Dr. Cunningham and Dr. Tomita are passionate about improving our community’s access to top quality outpatient care close to home and have something unique to offer CVH patients.
Outpatient Urology at Ironwood
Carson Valley residents will now enjoy convenient access to a variety of urological tests and procedures.
For nearly 30 years, urologist Dr. Cunningham has cared for patients in the Gardnerville region with compassion. He has extensive experience treating patients with health conditions that affect their urinary-tract system and reproductive organs, such as:
- Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
- Urinary incontinence
- Kidney stones
- Erectile dysfunction (ED)
- Treatment of voiding difficulties related to prostate enlargement
- Vasectomy
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Ironwood
Patients suffering from nerve and spinal pain disorders can look closer to home for cutting edge, non-invasive treatment that makes their everyday lives more comfortable.
A variety of back, neck and nerve pain treatment and diagnostic options are now available at the Ironwood Specialty Care clinic, including:

Dr. Tomita brings his impressive expertise in Non-Operative Management of Spine Pain with Nerve Disorders Management to Carson Valley. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Dr. Tomita has substantial experience treating disorders and injuries affecting the bones, brain, joints, ligaments, muscles, nerves, spinal cord, and tendons.
