Dorie Ruhe Receives 2021 ‘Claire H Bauer Heart of a Volunteer’ Award

Carson Valley Health (CVH) recognized Dorie Ruhe with the 2021 Heart of a Volunteer Award.

Dorie came to volunteer at CVH in May 2015. Dorie has a huge heart; she is sensitive, caring, and ready to jump in and help whenever needed. The entire Volunteer Team speaks highly of Dorie and her compassion. She exemplifies the true meaning of a selfless person. Dorie follows the CVH core values by showing respect, excellence, integrity, and compassion on a daily basis.

During the last six years, Dorie has supported her fellow volunteers by picking up extra shifts when needed. She will also take on any project that comes her way. She is looking forward to volunteering in the new Rehabilitation and Outpatient Physical Therapy Center.

Dorie enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing Bridge, and loves taking pictures of our beautiful Carson Valley. Dorie spends time at the swim center doing water aerobics and walking with her walking group. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her husband Craig, two daughters Sarah and Debbie, and her grandchildren Jacob, Matthew, and Kyra.

Dorie is looking forward to a 10-day hiking/walking trip to the Azores, in Portugal in 2022.

She is a very humble person and gives it her all when she is representing CVH. For this reason, CVH present Dorie with the 2021 Claire Bauer Heart of a Volunteer Award.

Thank you to the Bauer Family for keeping their mothers’ memory alive through this special award. In addition, thank you Dorie for all your dedicated volunteer hours to CVH. Thank you for being a part of the CVH family.
