GARDNERVILLE, NV. (October 8, 2015) – Susan Davila, CEO of Carson Valley Health in Gardnerville was recently named as Chair of Nevada Hospital Association (NHA). Davila will serve in this role for a one year term while maintaining her current duties of overseeing the operations of Carson Valley Health’s hospital and affiliated physician clinics.

The NHA is the advocate for Nevada's hospitals, health systems, communities and patients before legislative and regulatory bodies. Formally established in 1960 and incorporated in 1971, the NHA was created by hospital administrators to provide a unified forum for all types of hospitals to address such issues as reimbursement, worker's compensation, professional liability and continuing education, among others.

Over time, the emergence of major issues such as marketplace health care, restrictive government payment policies, inadequate funding for indigent care, and manpower shortages, among others, have continued to pose formidable challenges to the health care system. Davila says “Taking on this role at the Nevada Hospital Association will ensure our voices from the Carson Valley are heard at the local, state, and federal level. It’s such an honor to serve the healthcare community and work alongside my fellow peers in Hospital Administration and Healthcare Advocacy.”
