Michael Sullivan, MD Brings Neurology Practice to Carson Valley Health

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. (Dec. 22, 2015) – Carson Valley Health is pleased to announce the addition of neurology specialist Michael P. Sullivan, MD to the team of healthcare providers serving the Carson Valley.
Sullivan is a board-certified neurologist who brings over 30 years of experience in the field of neurology, a specialty field that has not been available locally for some time. Dr. Sullivan’s expertise includes extensive work in the areas of multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, epilepsy and pediatric neurology. He earned a doctor of medicine from University of Arizona Medical School located in Tucson, Ariz., and completed his neurology residency at UC San Diego in San Diego, Calif. Sullivan is certified with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Fellowship-trained in neurophysiology and board certified in electroencephalography, Sullivan’s expertise adds to the scope of services offered through Carson Valley Health. With Sullivan’s practice, the Carson Valley now has access to electroencephalography (monitoring of the brain waves, often used to detect sleep disorders and epilepsy) and electromyography (evaluation of the activity of the skeletal muscles, often used to detect neuromuscular diseases or study kinesiology).
An outdoor enthusiast, Michael Sullivan has served at the remote Himalayan Rescue Association clinic in Manang, Nepal, as well as Expedition Physician for climbs of Mount Everest, Aconcagua, Denali and Pik Communism. He has lived in northern Nevada for 22 years and continues to enjoy numerous outdoor adventure activities including diving, climbing and flying.
