Carson Valley Health Welcomes Surgeons DeMar and Knoll

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. (July 22, 2014) – General surgeons Mark DeMar, MD, FACS and Kraig Knoll, MD, FACS have joined in Carson Valley Health’s mission to promote the health and wellness of the Carson Valley and are now practicing out of the Job’s Peak General Surgery office across the street from the Gardnerville hospital.

“Dr. Knoll and Dr. DeMar are well-respected in our area for their experience and patient-centered approach to surgical care.” says Gina Zink, CVH Director of Clinics, “We are excited to have them join our team and expand the surgical options for our patients at Job’s Peak General Surgery and at Carson Valley Health.”

The two surgeons have been partners for the past ten years, first practicing together in Arizona and then moving to the Carson City area six years ago. Dr. DeMar and Dr. Knoll are the only surgeons in the area who perform laparoscopic inguinal hernias, and are Certified Wound-Care Specialists. They are both experts in minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. DeMar attended Medical School at The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, graduating in 1991. He completed his Surgical Residency at Michigan State Residency Program in 1996. He was an Advanced Trauma Life Support Instructor from 2002-2010, and has served as a Combat Surgeon in the U.S. Army for three tours of Duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Dr. Knoll attended The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, graduating in 1992. His Surgical Residency was completed at the Baptist Health System Montclair and Princeton Hospitals in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Knoll received the coveted Hugh Linder award for most outstanding surgical resident. He too served in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Surgeon.

Both physicians joined CVH at Job’s Peak General Surgery following the resignation of Dr. Soon Kim. All medical records have been retained by CVH and are available to the new surgeons for follow-up care of Job’s Peak General Surgery, CVH Surgery Department, and CVH Wound Care patients. Job’s Peak General Surgery is located at 1516 Virginia Ranch Road, Building A, Gardnerville. The office is open Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
