GARDNERVILLE, Nev. (March 31, 2014)

Retired Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Christopher Griffith will be the recipient of Carson Valley Health Foundation’s Healthcare Legacy Award at the Foundation’s fifth annual Gala on May 10, 2014.

“We realize that the health of a community goes far beyond the walls of the hospital. Chris Griffith’s work with the DARE and GREAT programs have fostered a healthy community by helping the youth in our area focus on making smart and healthy lifestyle choices. He has touched the lives of so many in our community and this is our small token of appreciation for his work over the years” says Shannon Albert, Director of Development and Outreach for Carson Valley Health.

The event, “A Grand Affair – 1920’s SpeakEasy” is the major annual fundraiser for the hospital foundation and will help Carson Valley Health purchase an updated cardiac and respiratory monitoring system to be used throughout the hospital. This system will enable a quicker response time for healthcare professionals, and better coordination of care between services during a patient’s stay at the hospital or in the Emergency Room.

Community members interested in attending can purchase tickets at cvmchospital.org/gala or by calling (775) 782-1512. Ticket options start at $175.00. Black Tie or Era-Appropriate attire is requested.
