New Life-Saving Services at CVMC
Effective January 1, 2010, Carson Valley Medical Center expands our scope of services.
LIFE-SAVING SERVICES NOW OFFERED AT YOUR COMMUNITY HOSPITAL
Carson Valley Medical Center rings in the New Year with adding several new services to the growing scope of healthcare services offered at Your Community Hospital.
Carson Valley Medial Center (CVMC) in Gardnerville now has the capability to:
- Perform emergency surgeries 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Surgeons from Carson Surgical Group and Job’s Peak General Surgery will be on call for the surgical needs of Carson Valley patients.
- Provide inpatients with dialysis as needed.
- Offer patients neurology consults via telemedicine. Reno neurologist Dr. Paul Katz will be available for web-based consults for CVMC patients who are in need of this service, eliminating the need to be transferred to Reno for care.
- Receive electrocardiogram results from local emergency vehicles electronically, allowing emergency room staff to respond immediately upon arrival at CVMC. The addition of this technology allows for speedier treatment in heart care, in situations when every second counts.
“The addition of these new services enhances our ability to care for the patients of the Carson Valley and provides them with a full-service hospital” says a hospital spokesperson.
The Carson Valley Medical Center Hospital is located at the south end of Gardnerville, and has several other facilities throughout the Carson Valley. For more information on the healthcare services available locally, visit www.cvmchospital.org.
